Assistant Director (Database Security)

NADRA requires an Assistant Director (Database Security) on a contractual basis at Islamabad, responsible for database activity monitoring and protection using IBM Guardium, database risk analysis and cybersecurity controls for on-premises and cloud databases. Selected candidate will undergo a 6 months probation period, extendable subject to performance.

• Install, configure and set up Guardium appliances for database activity monitoring and protection
• Install Guardium agents on database servers and configure log collection
• Patch Guardium appliances and renew licenses
• Monitor and evaluate database incidents through IBM Guardium
• Perform data discovery and classification with stakeholders
• Monitor and audit all database activity including privileged users
• Analyze database risks through log analytics
• Script and automate processes and reports
• Ensure backup, disaster recovery and data protection mechanisms
• Implement cybersecurity controls for on-premises and cloud databases

• Bachelor's - BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Cyber Security, BS Information Security, BE Electrical Engineering, BE Electronics Engineering, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, recognised by HEC
• Bachelor's (4 years) in Computer Science/Information Technology/Cyber Security/Information Security or Electrical/Electronics Engineering (with relevant IS certifications) from an HEC recognized university
• Degrees must be attested by HEC
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in IS, IT, Database Administration or Network Device Administration
• IBM Security certification/badge preferred
• CySA+, Data+ or equivalent preferred
• Analytical, troubleshooting and technical writing skills
• NOC required at interview for Government/Semi-Government employees

• Required experience: At least 2 years
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in Information Security, Information Technology, Database Administration or Network Device Administration; IBM Security certification and CySA+/Data+ preferred

• All candidates: 18 – 37 years
• Age is counted on the closing date, 25 Oct 2026.
• The upper limit already includes the general age relaxation of 5 years; it is not added again.
