Every category of government job currently advertised in Pakistan, from police and teaching to medical, IT and clerical posts. Open a category to see its vacancies with eligibility, last dates and how to apply.
Nothing is open in these right now. The advertisements are kept because their eligibility criteria, test dates and results are still what people look for.
A category here groups posts by the work they involve, not by the department advertising them. A Medical Officer post appears under Medical whether it was advertised by a provincial health department, a teaching hospital, the armed forces or a public sector company - which is the point, because somebody qualified for one is usually qualified for the others and would otherwise have to check each employer separately.
Pay in the public sector is set by scale rather than negotiated, and the scale is stated on the advertisement. Broadly, support and clerical cadres sit in the lower Basic Pay Scales, technical and supervisory posts in the middle, and posts that require a degree start at BPS-16 or BPS-17. Provincial and project posts use scales of their own, and contract posts often quote a consolidated package instead. Treat the scale printed on the advertisement as the reliable figure and anything else as indicative.
Eligibility is decided per post, not per category. Two posts in one advertisement routinely differ in required qualification, age band, experience and quota, so open the vacancy itself and read its criteria before applying. Where a category has nothing open this week, its page shows the past advertisements instead - those still carry the eligibility criteria and test patterns the next round is usually based on.
