Government Driver Jobs in Pakistan

Driver posts are advertised by almost every kind of public body: provincial departments, district administrations, courts, hospitals, universities, development authorities and the police, where the equivalent rank is usually Constable Driver. Because the post exists everywhere rather than in one department, these vacancies appear in small numbers across many separate advertisements rather than in large recruitment drives, and they are almost always filled by the department directly rather than through a commission.

The consistent requirement is a valid driving licence of the right class - an LTV licence for cars and light vehicles, HTV for buses and heavy vehicles - held for a stated minimum period. Education is normally Middle or Matriculation, and most advertisements ask for a number of years of practical driving experience. An age band applies, and some posts add a literacy or basic mechanical requirement so the driver can carry out routine maintenance and log usage.

Selection is a practical driving test, usually with a medical and eyesight check, and sometimes a short interview. These posts sit in the lower Basic Pay Scales, and in police forces the driver rank carries the same pay and allowances as the equivalent constable rank. District quotas are common, so the domicile named in the advertisement often decides eligibility before anything else. Read the licence class and experience requirement closely - both are applied strictly at scrutiny.
