Police Jobs in Pakistan

Police vacancies are advertised by the provincial forces - Punjab Police, Sindh Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Balochistan Police and the Islamabad Capital Territory Police - and by federal organisations such as the Federal Investigation Agency, the National Highways and Motorway Police and the Anti-Narcotics Force. Constable-level recruitment is usually run by the force itself, often district by district, while the officer cadres of Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector more often go through the province's public service commission.

Constable posts typically ask for Matriculation and set both an age band and physical standards: a minimum height, and a chest measurement for male candidates. A physical efficiency test follows - normally a timed run, a long jump and a high jump - and it is an elimination stage, not a scored one. Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector posts generally require Intermediate or a Bachelor's degree. Domicile is checked strictly, and many forces recruit only from the district or region named in the advertisement.

Selection is usually the physical test first, then a written or objective paper, then a medical examination and an interview, with the force publishing the final merit list itself. Constable ranks sit in the lower Basic Pay Scales and the officer cadres from the middle scales upward, but pay, quota, reserved seats and age relaxation all differ by province and by post. Read the criteria printed on the advertisement for the exact post you want, not the ones for the force in general.
