About this vacancy
Director General of the Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, on MP-I pay package. Appointment is on contract for an initial three years, extendable based on performance. The role provides strategic leadership for PIE, overseeing education research, policy analysis, national assessments and data systems, advising government on education policy, building partnerships and ensuring governance and compliance.
Duties and responsibilities
- Set strategic direction aligned with national education priorities
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies and institutional reforms
- Oversee research, assessments, data systems and knowledge products
- Advise the government on education policy and reform
- Foster excellence, innovation and accountability
- Build partnerships with governments, academia, donors, civil society and the private sector
- Ensure sound governance, resource management and compliance
- Represent PIE at national and international forums
Eligibility criteria
- Master's or PhD - PhD or Master's degree in Social Sciences, Management, Public Policy, Administrative Sciences, Numerical or Mathematical Sciences with Data Science, Education, Economics, Statistics, Public Administration and related degrees as listed in the advertisement, in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, recognised by HEC
- PhD or Master's degree in Social Sciences, Management, Public Policy, Administrative Sciences or Numerical/Mathematical Sciences with Data Science from a recognized university
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 7 years
- 7 years of experience for PhD holders or 9 years for Master's degree holders
Age limit
- All candidates: 18 – 62 years
