Duties and responsibilities
- Design and procure GPU hardware specifications for the PERA on-premises AI data center
- Install, configure and maintain the full local AI stack including CUDA, cuDNN, drivers and inference runtimes such as Ollama, vLLM and llama.cpp
- Deploy and manage open-source foundation models such as LLaMA 3, Mistral or Qwen entirely on local hardware
- Implement model quantization (GGUF, GPTQ, AWQ) for efficient inference within GPU VRAM constraints
- Ensure zero data egress so all model inference, training data and embeddings remain on PERA servers
- Design and implement a production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipeline using LangChain or LlamaIndex
- Build a local vector database such as Qdrant, ChromaDB or Weaviate for embeddings of PERA documents and operational data
- Develop document ingestion pipelines supporting PDF, Word, structured database data and scanned documents via OCR
- Implement semantic search, hybrid search and re-ranking for accurate knowledge retrieval
- Create a self-improving feedback loop to refine retrieval and generation quality
- Fine-tune foundation models on PERA-specific datasets using LoRA and QLoRA
- Design data pipelines to collect, clean, label and version-control training datasets
- Implement continuous model evaluation, A/B testing and performance benchmarking
- Maintain a model registry for versioning, rollback and lifecycle management
- Develop and expose AI capabilities as secure RESTful APIs using FastAPI or .NET Core for FRMS, PERA360 and HRMIS
- Implement forecasting and analytics models for enforcement trends, inspection planning and resource allocation
- Ensure API versioning, authentication, rate limiting and comprehensive API documentation
- Deploy and fine-tune object detection models such as YOLOv8/v10 for video-based surveillance
- Build real-time and batch video analysis pipelines for detection of violations and entity recognition
- Integrate computer vision outputs with FRMS enforcement workflows
- Deploy local speech-to-text models such as Whisper and WhisperX supporting Urdu, Punjabi and English
- Build keyword spotting and flagging pipelines and speaker diarization capabilities
- Integrate audio intelligence outputs into PERA360 officer accountability workflows
- Design SQL Server schemas and data warehouses to store AI inference results and metadata
- Enforce data governance including classification, access control, audit logging and retention policies
- Ensure all AI pipelines comply with Government of Punjab data residency and cybersecurity requirements
- Lead and grow the AI/ML team and establish MLOps practices including MLflow experiment tracking and automated retraining
- Collaborate with backend, frontend and DevOps teams to embed AI features into production software
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelors (16 Years)|Masters - BS Computer Science, BS Artificial Intelligence, BS Data Science, BS Software Engineering, Masters in Computer Science, in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, recognised by HEC
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university
- Minimum 08 years hands-on machine learning and AI development experience
- Hands-on local deployment experience with LLaMA, Mistral, Qwen or equivalent foundation models
- LLM serving with Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp or TGI including quantization (GGUF/GPTQ/AWQ)
- End-to-end RAG pipeline implementation with LangChain or LlamaIndex
- Production-scale vector databases such as Qdrant, ChromaDB, Weaviate or Milvus
- PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers and PEFT (LoRA/QLoRA)
- Computer vision with YOLOv8/v10, OpenCV and ONNX Runtime
- Audio and speech with OpenAI Whisper, WhisperX and pyannote-audio
- MLOps with MLflow or DVC
- GPU infrastructure with CUDA/cuDNN and NVIDIA GPU administration
- API development with FastAPI or ASP.NET Core
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Python primary with working knowledge of C#
- GPU-enabled Docker with NVIDIA Container Toolkit
- Mandatory daily usage of AI productivity tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 8 years
- Minimum 08 years of hands-on machine learning and AI development experience; experience in government, law enforcement or regulated-industry AI projects strongly preferred; demonstrated experience deploying and serving LLMs locally and productionizing RAG pipelines
- Experience accepted from: Public Sector Organizations, Private Entities Registered with SECP, Private Entities Registered with Registrar of Firms, Private Entities Registered with a Public Sector Regulatory Authority
