OTS Jobs and Tests

Open Testing Service is a private testing organisation, not a government department, and it makes no appointments. It runs screening and entry tests under contract for departments, authorities, boards, universities and companies. OTS conducts the test and publishes the result; the organisation that advertised the post applies its own eligibility criteria and produces its own final merit list, and that is the list that decides an appointment.

A candidate applying for a post screened by OTS normally registers for that project on the OTS website, pays the test fee as the advertisement directs, and downloads a roll number slip showing the centre, date and reporting time. Original documents are usually required at the test centre or at the interview stage. The qualification, age and domicile conditions come from the recruiting department, and the testing service has no discretion over them.

Papers generally combine subject knowledge with English, general knowledge and analytical reasoning, in a ratio the advertisement or candidate guide sets out. Results and answer keys are published on the OTS website, and shortlisted candidates go forward to an interview with the recruiting body. Anything offering a guaranteed result, a leaked paper or an appointment for a fee in OTS's name is a scam, whoever it claims to represent.
