About this vacancy
FOSPAH invites applications for the post of Assistant Law Officer at its Regional Office Karachi on a contract basis initially for a period of one year, extendable on the basis of performance. The competent authority may increase remuneration based on satisfactory performance during or upon renewal of contract. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on case law, statutes and comparative jurisprudence to support drafting of orders and legal opinions
- Assist in drafting orders, notices and other case-related legal documents under the supervision of the Regional Head/Advisor
- Prepare legal agreements and forms
- Maintain legal files in electronic and paper copy
- Handle legal issues efficiently, ensuring confidentiality of complaints and proceedings
- Monitor legal file status to ensure appropriate follow-up actions, flow of legal information and response to the needs of the parties
- Ensure smooth communication amongst the legal team at the Head Office Islamabad and all Regional Offices
- Conduct and support awareness campaigns
- Any other tasks assigned by the Regional Head/Advisor, Registrar FOSPAH or the Ombudsperson
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's - LLB, in Law
- Second class or above Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university, higher qualification preferred
- Excellent drafting skills and proficiency in English
- Ability to conduct outreach activities in person and online
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience required
- Required experience: 1 – 2 years
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant legal experience; prior legal experience and familiarity with proceedings before courts and other legal forums required, preference to High Court practice license holders
Age limit
