Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with NTL strategic priorities and Board directives
  • Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance frameworks across business units
  • Conduct financial, operational, IT and compliance audits
  • Review reliability and integrity of financial and operational information
  • Verify compliance with the Companies Act 2017, Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules 2013 and PPRA Rules 2004
  • Provide assurance on business and operational risk mitigation measures
  • Present audit findings, reports and recommendations to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors
  • Monitor implementation of corrective actions and follow up on audit recommendations
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate to avoid duplication of efforts
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ethical conduct and continuous improvement

Eligibility criteria

  • Professional Certification - ACA, ACMA, ACCA, in Accounting & Audit, recognised by Recognized professional accountancy body
  • ACA/ACMA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification from a recognized body
  • Sound knowledge of auditing standards (IA, FAC), corporate governance and risk-based audit methodologies
  • Strong understanding of financial management, procurement and information systems controls
  • 8-10 years of progressive audit experience, preferably in a leadership role
  • Ability to present audit findings to senior management and Board-level committees
  • Expertise in Digital Public Infrastructure (Digital ID, Digital Payments, Data Exchange)
  • Knowledge of Digital ID systems, identity lifecycle management and assurance models
  • Understanding of global GovTech and ID4D policy ecosystems including NIST, World Bank and AU digital frameworks
  • Maximum age 44 years including 5 years relaxation
  • NOC required for Government/Semi-Government employees

Experience required

  • Required experience: 8 – 10 years
  • 8-10 years of progressive audit experience, preferably in a leadership role in internal audit, risk management or compliance. Experience in public/private sector enterprises or technology-based organizations preferred.
