About this vacancy
The Common Management Unit (CMU) is hiring a Deputy Advisor for the National Reference Laboratory (NRL). The post provides technical expertise in TB laboratory diagnostics, quality systems and EQA, and coordinates with reference laboratories and provincial programmes. It requires an MBBS with MPhil in Pathology or Microbiology, or a Master's in Lab Technology, Microbiology or Public Health, plus seven years of relevant experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Technical expertise in TB laboratory diagnostics and quality systems/laboratory quality assurance/EQA participation
- Analytical and data review for laboratory performance monitoring, surveillance data verification and troubleshooting diagnostic network bottlenecks
- Stakeholder coordination and communication with reference laboratories, provincial programs and technical partners
Eligibility criteria
- Master's or MPhil - MBBS, MPhil (Pathology, Microbiology), Master's degree, in Medicine, Biological Sciences, Public Health, recognised by HEC, PMDC
- MBBS with MPhil (Pathology, Microbiology) or Master's degree (HEC-recognized) in Lab Technology, Microbiology, Public Health or related field (HEC/PMDC-recognized where applicable)
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 7 years
- Minimum seven years of relevant experience in infectious diseases clinical laboratory diagnostics, quality assurance or laboratory network management
Age limit
- All candidates: 18 – 50 years
