About this vacancy
Head of the Wireless Wing at MOITT on MP-II pay package per the Federal Government MP Scale Policy 2020. Contract is for 3 years, extendable by 2 years on a yearly basis.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and organize progressive policy documents relating to the telecom sector especially wireless communication
- Policy development for spectrum management, broadband and satellite communications
- Performance oversight of government telecom entities
- Prepare technology and policy briefs for government decision-making
- Conceptualize and monitor telecom projects including PSDP-funded development projects
- Liaise with industry for sector development
- Plan and manage Wireless Wing operations
- Analyze international telecommunications indices
- Manage procurement processes and bid evaluation
Eligibility criteria
- Master's or PhD - PhD Electrical Engineering, PhD Telecommunication Engineering, PhD Electronics Engineering, PhD Computer Systems Engineering, PhD Engineering Management, MS Electrical Engineering, MS Telecommunication Engineering, MS Electronics Engineering, MS Computer Systems Engineering, MS Engineering Management, in Telecom Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, recognised by HEC
- PhD in a relevant engineering discipline with 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree with 14 years of experience, from an HEC-recognized institution
- Comprehensive understanding of modern telecommunication technologies including 5G, broadband and spectrum management
- Policy expertise
- Team leadership and stakeholder engagement
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 10 years
- PhD in a relevant engineering discipline with 10 years of experience, or Master's degree with 14 years of experience in the relevant field
