About this vacancy
Team Lead for the plastics management cell of the Environment Protection & Climate Change Department, leading implementation of the Plastic Management Strategy and Single-Use Plastics Regulations under DLI-4 of the Punjab Green Development Program. Lahore domicile only.
Duties and responsibilities
- Implementation of the Plastic Management Strategy and the Punjab Environmental Protection (Production and Consumption of Single-use Plastic Products) Regulations 2023
- Achieving DLR 4-2 and DLR 4-3 of the Punjab Green Development Program
- Approval of time-bound action plans for achieving the intended results
- Monitoring and evaluation, supervising and guiding staff for achieving the intended objectives
- Approve standard operating procedures for every functional aspect of the Cell from licensing to awareness campaigns
- Provide support during hiring of consultancy services and PR firms
- Ensure compliance and implementation of all relevant rules and regulations
- Scrutinize final licensing applications and recommend them to the Environment Protection Agency for final decision
- Play a critical role in institutional strengthening and capacity building of EP&CCD and EPA in plastic management
- Any other task assigned by the higher authorities
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's or Doctorate - Doctorate (20 years), MS/M.Phil (18 years), Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) in Environmental Engineering or Sciences, Project Management or Engineering Management, in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Project Management, recognised by HEC
- Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Project Management with 08 years experience, or a Masters degree (18 years) in Environmental Engineering or Sciences, Project Management or Engineering Management from an HEC recognized university with 10 years experience, having a Bachelors degree (16 years) in the same fields
- Experience of management positions dealing with environmental matters and execution of development projects and strategies in the area of plastics
- Lahore domicile required
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 8 years
- Ph.D. with 08 years experience, or Masters (18 years) with 10 years experience; experience in management positions dealing with environmental matters and management or execution of development projects and strategies, including plastics regulation, technological innovation and recycling infrastructure, economic incentives and levies, institutional capacity building and citizen engagement
