The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi is a key administrative arm of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Government of Pakistan. It is legally mandated under Section 25A of the Customs Act, 1969, to determine and issue "Valuation Rulings" (VR) for imported goods. These rulings establish standardized tariff baselines to ensure transparent revenue collection, eliminate customs duty evasion, and deter the under-invoicing of imported items.
