Network + Security Engineer for the Industrial Planning & Analysis Cell (IPAC) at the Directorate General of Industries, Prices, Weights & Measures, Punjab.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design, configure and maintain LAN and VPN infrastructures
- Manage and monitor network performance, availability and security
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Mikrotik)
- Implement and enforce network security policies including ACLs, IPS/IDS, VLANs and VPNs
- Perform regular network capacity planning, tuning and upgrades
- Monitor network traffic using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios or PRTG
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless operations
- Provide technical support, root cause analysis and issue resolution for escalated network problems
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for network resilience
- Maintain detailed network documentation including diagrams, configurations and inventory
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering or Software Engineering, in Computer Engineering/Sciences, Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering/Sciences, Software Engineering, recognised by HEC
- 16 years of education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering or Software Engineering from an HEC recognized university
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Mikrotik) and network monitoring tools
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 5 years
- Minimum 05 years of relevant experience
