Project Director

Ministry of National Food Security and Research is hiring for the post of Project Director (PPS-10) on a contract basis in Islamabad. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in Project Management and at least 15 years of experience. The role involves willingness to travel and proficiency in the use of computer applications and software relevant to data analysis and program management. The last date to apply is 12 November 2026.

• Experience: A minimum of -15- years of professional experience in his/ her field of expertise preferably in development sector
• Proven experience in managing and coordinating large-scale programs or programs, preferably in the animal health or public health sector
• Knowledge of international animal health programs and familiarity with international standards and Experience in disease surveillance, emergency preparedness, and response activities will be preferred
• Willingness to travel and proficiency in the use of computer applications and software relevant to data analysis and program management
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in the context of program
• Job Location: Islamabad Job Description/Duties: Establish sound management, supervision and monitoring within the program for planning, coordination, reporting, financial management, M&E and troubleshooting in line with PSDP management and the program document
• Be responsible for the appropriately capacitating the FPMU and PPMUs including necessary recruitment, account(s) opening, operation and management of FPMU in an effective and efficient manner involving implementing partners in the provinces
• Ensure that all resources are made available for the timely and smooth implementation of the program activities
• Develop an effective liaison with stakeholders, conduct media management and develop and operationalize communication and training strategy for the program awareness to its stakeholders
• Lead the preparation of the annual work plan and budget (AWPB) and associated procurement plan and ensure its timely submission to relevant fora and seek necessary approvals
• Ensure an effective and efficient utilization of program funds according to the AWPB and procurement plan through close supervision and monitoring
• Ensure that progress and other reports are produced and submitted to the appropriate authorities on a timely basis
• Ensure effective linkages, liaison and networking with provincial/ territorial livestock authorities and district livestock officers and private veterinary service providers on relevant interventions
• Establish effective fora for public-private sector interaction and promotion of private sector linkages with the provincial, territorial and district levels or any other stakeholders representing the program at relevant events and meetings
• Implement the decisions of the PSC and recommendation of the TWG; and Perform any other duty and function relevant to program or assigned otherwise

• Bachelor's - PhD, MBA, MPA, BE, in Project Management
• Qualification: -Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree recognized by the relevant regulatory authority is mandatory. -A Master's or Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Veterinary Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field
• Veterinary/ Public Health qualification will be an asset. -Apart from the technical qualifications MBA, Master in Project Management, or MPA or experience of executing similar project(s) will be preferred

• Required experience: At least 15 years
• A minimum of -15- years of professional experience in his/ her field of expertise preferably in development sector.
