The Directorate General of Archaeology & Museums (DOAM) is an attached formation of the Culture, Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Established in July 1992, it is responsible for the protection, conservation, excavation, and promotion of the rich archaeological treasures and diverse cultural heritage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including the world-renowned remnants of the ancient Gandhara civilization.
