Incident Response Officer

Incident Response Officer at the Punjab Information Technology Board, responding to and investigating security incidents around the clock.

• Respond promptly to security incidents 24/7, following established incident response procedures
• Conduct incident response including detection, containment, eradication and recovery from security incidents
• Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practices and ensure the organization's security posture adapts accordingly
• Monitor and administer EDR/XDR solutions
• Monitor the SIEM solution and perform incident analysis
• Investigate security incidents using forensic analysis to determine root causes, scope and impact while implementing containment strategies
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for incident resolution and document findings and remediation actions
• Use threat intelligence tools to stay updated on emerging threats and participate in VAPT activities to identify potential weaknesses
• Ensure timely and effective response to security incidents, minimizing potential impact
• Produce comprehensive documentation and reporting of incident response activities
• Assist in developing and maintaining incident response plans and playbooks including conducting training and optimizing CERT programs

• Bachelor's or Master's - Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years), in Computational Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering/Sciences, Software Engineering, recognised by HEC
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
