Autonomous Body

The Pakistan Privatisation Commission is a specialized federal agency operating under the Ministry of Privatisation. Established in 1991, its primary mandate is to manage the open, fair, and transparent divestment of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and federal assets. This includes selling or transferring stakes in public utilities, banks, industrial plants, transport infrastructure, and oil & gas enterprises to the private sector to promote market competition and reduce the fiscal burden on the state.
