About this vacancy
Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Grid Company Limited, reporting to the Board of Directors and leading the company's transmission business and growth in the provincial power market.
Duties and responsibilities
- Report to the Company's Board of Directors and support growth of the company's business through expansion of the power market in the province and the country
- Manage operations and extension of the transmission network
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to achieve performance targets set by the provincial government and the Board
- Provide vision and leadership to build a progressive company, dedicated professionals, future leadership and succession planning
- Engage with stakeholders at top levels including the regulator, federal government, agencies in other provinces, private sector investors, financial institutions and bulk power consumers
- Keep abreast with market development initiatives such as the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM) and the company's role in it
- Monitor and supervise core teams to ensure a profitable company on a long term basis
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Bachelors degree in Engineering (minimum), Masters degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or Business/Project Management preferred, in Electrical Engineering/Sciences, Mechanical Engineering/Sciences, Management, Project Management, Business And Management Sciences, recognised by HEC
- Bachelors degree in Engineering as a minimum; preference for a Masters degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or Business/Project Management from an HEC recognized or accredited university
- At least five years at senior management position as CEO or directly reporting to the CEO
- Preference for experience in transmission utility, contract management, power sector regulatory affairs and tariff matters
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 20 years
- Twenty years post-qualification experience in the power sector, of which five years must be at senior management position as CEO or directly reporting to the CEO; experience in transmission utility, contract management, power sector regulatory affairs and tariff matters preferred
- Experience accepted from: Power Sector Organizations, Public Sector Companies
