About this vacancy
General Manager Technical of Punjab Grid Company Limited, leading planning, design, operation and maintenance of transmission lines and grid stations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Plan and design transmission lines and grid stations
- Oversee operation of transmission lines and grid stations
- Supervise connection agreements with users of the transmission system
- Identify potential projects for development by the provincial government or under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode
- Select and monitor consultants, contractors, developers and private partners
- Represent the company at various fora
- Liaise with relevant authorities on laying of transmission lines from proposed power generating units to the National Grid or in isolated mode
- Oversee operation and maintenance of transmission lines and the grid system, internally by PGC or through outsourcing
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum), Masters degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering/Sciences, recognised by HEC
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an HEC recognized university as a minimum
- Preferably a Masters degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an HEC recognized university
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 10 years
- At least ten years of experience at management level in the power sector
- Experience accepted from: Power Sector Organizations, Public Sector Companies
