About this vacancy
Environment & Social Specialist for the WWTP Babu Sabu project. Position in the Project Management Unit for construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at Babu Sabu, Lahore, under the Punjab Water and Sanitation Authority (PWASA). Appointment is project based for the duration of the project.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the environmental and social management framework for the project
- Prepare, review and monitor ESIA, ESMP and resettlement instruments
- Ensure compliance with national environmental regulations and financier safeguard policies
- Monitor contractor compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements
- Manage stakeholder consultation and the grievance redress mechanism
- Prepare periodic safeguards monitoring reports
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's - B.Sc Environmental Engineering, B.Sc Environmental Sciences, in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, recognised by HEC
- Registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) as a Registered Engineer is required
- Experience of environmental and social safeguards on internationally financed projects
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 12 years
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
- Experience accepted from: Public Sector Organizations, Private Sector Organizations
