About this vacancy

NUST invites online applications for the post of Caretaker at University Main Office (UMO), Field Administration Dte. Job Reference: Job/NG-59-RA1/10/14/2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview; no TA/DA admissible.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Manager (Hostel) in routine operations
  • Remain present on duty in hostel 24/7
  • Maintain and update all registers and filing records
  • Fulfil day to day requirements of occupants as per SOP
  • Keep record of locks and keys issued to occupants
  • Facilitate newly allotted students
  • Receive and hand over mails, letters and parcels
  • Maintain record of paid mess bill challans
  • Assign and supervise sanitary workers
  • Regulate lighting system as per policy
  • Surveillance of CCTV cameras
  • Custodian of sanitary material, stationery and first aid box
  • Monitor execution of maintenance work
  • Accompany critical medical cases to NUST medical center
  • Perform any duty assigned by Manager (Hostel), AD Hostels & DD Hostels

Eligibility criteria

  • Intermediate or Bachelor's - FA, FSc, BA, BSc, recognised by HEC
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Management skills
  • Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC
  • No 3rd Division in academic career
  • NUST employees need minimum one year service and NOC from Head of Institution
  • Candidates must not be in process of pursuing the required degree
  • Candidates must be medically fit
  • Govt/Armed Forces employees must apply through parent department

Experience required

  • Required experience: 1 – 2 years
  • Essential: 1 to 2 years in relevant field; Desirable: 3 to 4 years

Age limit

  • All candidates: 20 – 45 years
  • Age is counted on the closing date, 21 Oct 2026.
