About this vacancy
NUST invites online applications for the post of Tandoorchi at University Main Office (UMO), Administration Dte. Job Reference: Job/NG-124/10/07/2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview; no TA/DA admissible.
Duties and responsibilities
- Operate the tandoor and maintain required temperature
- Prepare and bake naan, roti, chapati, kulcha, paratha and other tandoor items
- Prepare tandoori chicken, tikka, kebabs and other tandoor dishes
- Prepare, knead and portion dough
- Ensure quality, freshness and hygiene of tandoor items
- Ensure timely production as per diners and meal timings
- Maintain cleanliness of tandoor area and utensils
- Clean and maintain the tandoor and report defects
- Handle fuel safely and economically
- Use flour and consumables economically
- Coordinate with Chef, Mess Supervisor and kitchen staff
- Provide tandoor services for official functions and events
- Perform other messing duties assigned by competent authority
Eligibility criteria
- Middle or Matric - 8th Class/Middle, Matric
- Knowledge of tandoor operation
- Cooking techniques
- Preparing dough
- Consistent quality, taste, portion size and timely production
- Food hygiene and safety
- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC
- No 3rd Division in academic career
- NUST employees need minimum one year service and NOC from Head of Institution
- Candidates must not be in process of pursuing the required degree
- Candidates must be medically fit
- Govt/Armed Forces employees must apply through parent department
Experience required
- Required experience: 1 – 2 years
- Essential: 1 year; Desirable: 2 years
Age limit
- All candidates: 20 – 45 years
