The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is hiring an Information Technology Officer (GIS) on contract, posted in Islamabad or anywhere in Pakistan. The post is offered at Executive Grade I. It requires a degree in Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, Data Science, Computer Science or a related discipline with 2 to 4 years of post qualification experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Configure and integrate geospatial services and standards including GeoServer, WMS, WFS, WMTS, REST services and OGC standards
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Master of Sciences (18 Years), Bachelor's Degree (16 Years), Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, Space Science, Data Science, Computer Science, recognised by HEC
- MS (18 years) with 2 years experience OR BS (16 years) with 4 years experience in a relevant discipline
- Preferred: Industry-standard certification in GIS/Remote Sensing
- Preferred: Full-Stack, Mobile App, AI/ML, Data Science, Database Administration or Cloud/DevOps experience
- Preferred: React.js/Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Preferred: Backend development with FastAPI/Python, ASP.NET Core/.NET
- Preferred: OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript
- Preferred: PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GeoServer and OGC-compliant services
- Preferred: Git, CI/CD, Docker, Linux/Nginx
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 2 years
- Master of Sciences (18 Years) in relevant discipline with 02 years post qualification relevant experience, OR Bachelor Degree (16 Years) in relevant discipline with 04 years post qualification relevant experience.
