Information Technology Officer (Incident Handler)

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is hiring three Information Technology Officers (Incident Handler) on contract, posted in Islamabad or anywhere in Pakistan. The post is offered at Executive Grade I and handles escalated cybersecurity incidents. It requires a degree in electrical or electronics engineering, computer science, software, telecom or cyber security with 2 to 4 years of post qualification experience.

• Receive and assess escalated cybersecurity incidents from SOC, SIEM, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence and other monitoring systems
• Identify malware behavior, persistence mechanisms and command-and-control infrastructure
• Develop, review and maintain information security policies, procedures, SOPs, incident response plans and playbooks

• Bachelor's or Master's - Master of Sciences (18 Years), Bachelor's Degree (16 Years), in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Cyber Security, recognised by HEC, PEC
• MS (18 years) with 2 years experience OR BS (16 years) with 4 years experience in a relevant discipline
• Preferred: Certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, EC Council CSA, EC Council CIH, GIAC GCIH
• Preferred: Experience in a CERT/CSIRT or SOC environment, preferably in telecommunications
• Preferred: Cybersecurity GRC experience with ISO/IEC 27001, NIST or CTDISR
• Preferred: Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-61 and ISO/IEC 27035
• Preferred: Threat intelligence and incident response tools such as Autopsy, Volatility, FTK Imager, The Sleuth Kit, ALEAPP, iLEAPP, MVT

• Required experience: At least 2 years
• Master of Sciences (18 Years) in relevant discipline with 02 years post qualification relevant experience, OR Bachelor Degree (16 Years) in relevant discipline with 04 years post qualification relevant experience.

• All candidates: 18 – 40 years
• Age is counted on the closing date, 1 Nov 2026.
