NUST invites online applications for the post of Tech Line at University Main Office (UMO), Information & Communication Technologies Dte. Job Reference: Job/NG-128/10/12/2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview; no TA/DA admissible.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage smooth operations of NUST Fiber Optic cable network at Data Centre and Schools/Institutes
- Monitoring, fault tracing, repair and maintenance of single and multi mode fiber optic cable setup including ODFs and patch cords
- Survey for new deployment, route clearance, splicing monitoring, ODF tagging and supervising installation works
- Ensure safety of NUST fiber optic infrastructure and coordinate with relevant sections
- Maintain records and up-to-date layout map of fiber optic cable network
- Any other task assigned by Senior Manager Data Centre
Eligibility criteria
- Diploma or Bachelor's - DAE (Electrical/Electronics/Telecom), B Tech (Electronics/Electrical/Telecom), in Electrical Engineering, Telecom Engineering
- Knowledge of OFC types, usage and installation
- OFC troubleshooting, splicing & OTDR testing
- Handling OFC troubleshooting tools
- Desirable: planning knowledge of new OFC deployment
- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC
- No 3rd Division in academic career
- NUST employees need minimum one year service and NOC from Head of Institution
- Candidates must not be in process of pursuing the required degree
- Candidates must be medically fit
- Govt/Armed Forces employees must apply through parent department
Experience required
- Required experience: 2 – 3 years
- Essential: 02 years hands-on experience; Desirable: 03 years
