Assistant Director Geospatial Modelling in the GIS Lab of the Punjab Forest Department, building spatial models for forest and natural resource protection. Duties and responsibilities
- Develop geospatial models and spatial analyses for forest cover, land use and natural resource protection
- Process satellite imagery and remote sensing data for change detection and monitoring
- Build and maintain spatial databases and geodatabases for the project
- Prepare maps, dashboards and analytical outputs for departmental decision making
- Support field survey teams with spatial data and model outputs
- Document modelling methodology and maintain data quality standards
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) (second division) in Space Science, Remote Sensing & GIS, Geo-informatics or GIS, in Geographical Information System (GIS), Space Sciences, recognised by HEC
- 16 years of education (second division) in Space Science, Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System (GIS), Geo-informatics or GIS or equivalent from an HEC recognized university
- Minimum two (02) years post-qualification relevant experience including one year of using GIS applications in forestry or other natural resources from a recognized private or public organization
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 2 years
- Minimum 2 year(s) of relevant post-qualification experience
- Experience accepted from: Public Sector Organizations, Private Sector Organizations
Age limit
- All candidates: 23 – 30 years
