Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is hiring a Junior Manager Geologist Drilling in Nokundi, District Chagai, Balochistan. The main duty of the post is to supervise core drilling activities to ensure compliance with geological objectives, drilling parameters, and safety standards. The post requires MS/ BS in Geology Engineering / Earth Sciences.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise core drilling activities to ensure compliance with geological objectives, drilling parameters, and safety standards
- Monitor drilling progress, penetration rates, and core recovery; adjust parameters as required
- Liaise with drilling contractors to ensure operational efficiency and core quality
- Oversee borehole stabilization, casing, and grouting operations when necessary
- Ensure systematic core recovery, orientation, and marking at the drill site
- Perform detailed geological logging (lithology, alteration, mineralization, structure, texture, grain size, etc.) following standard protocols
- Conduct geotechnical logging (RQD, fracture frequency, core angle, weathering, etc.) where required
- Maintain accurate drill hole records, core trays, and sampling intervals
- Oversee core cutting and sampling procedures ensuring representativeness and contamination control
- Prepare sample tickets, dispatch samples to laboratories, and track analytical results
- Perform QA/QC checks on analytical results and maintain data integrity
- Prepare daily, weekly, and end-of-hole drilling and geological reports
- Communicate progress and findings to senior geologists and project managers
- Maintain close coordination with survey, geophysical, and geochemical teams
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - MS Geology Engineering, BS Geology Engineering, Earth Sciences, in Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences
- Education: MS/ BS in Geology Engineering / Earth Sciences
- Core logging and sampling for Base Metal deposits
- Understanding of various mineral deposits
- Fieldwork experience in remote or mountainous terrain
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to safety and environmental protocols
- Core recovery percentage and data accuracy
- Timely completion of drill holes and logging
- QA/QC compliance and data reliability
- Quality of geological interpretations and reporting
- Adherence to HSE standards
