About this vacancy
Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is hiring a Junior Manager GIS in Nokundi, District Chagai, Balochistan. The main duty of the post is to acquire, preprocess, and analyze remote sensing data (e.g., ASTER, Landsat, Sentinel, WorldView) for mineral exploration. The post requires BS Space Science Geology / BS Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System with at least 2 years of experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Acquire, preprocess, and analyze remote sensing data (e.g., ASTER, Landsat, Sentinel, WorldView) for mineral exploration
- Generate alteration, lineament, lithological, and land cover maps using multispectral and hyperspectral data
- Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis including terrain modeling, buffer analysis, and target delineation
- Create and manage geodatabases, project layers, and coordinate systems
- Integrate remote sensing outputs with geological, geochemical, and geophysical data for interpretation and decision support
- Support field teams by preparing base maps, traverses, and field data collection plans
- Perform image classification, band ratios, and spectral indices tailored to hydrothermal alteration mapping
- Prepare and present spatial analysis results, maps, and technical documentation to exploration managers
- Ensure data accuracy, version control, and backup of GIS/RS data and projects
- Collaborate with geologists, field teams, and JV partners to align spatial outputs with exploration objectives
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's - BS Space Science Geology, BS Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System, in Space Science, Remote Sensing And GIS
- Education: BS Space Science Geology / BS Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System
- GIS Software Proficiency
- Data Analysis and Mapping
- Remote Sensing and Satelite Image interpretation
- Geospace Database Management
Experience required
- Required experience: 2 – 4 years
- Min 2-4 Yrs post qual experience
