Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is hiring a Junior Manager (Geologist) in Nokundi, District Chagai, Balochistan. The main duty of the post is to conduct detailed geological and structural mapping, rock/soil sampling, and trenching. The post requires MS/ BS in Geology with at least 1 year of experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct detailed geological and structural mapping, rock/soil sampling, and trenching
- Operate and manage hand held pXRF for in-field geochemical analysis, QA/QC validation, and data integration
- Compile and interpret field data using GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and Surpac for geological models
- Maintain sampling logs, field records, and digital databases with proper QA/QC procedures
- Contribute to daily and weekly geological reports, highlighting key findings and interpretations
- Knowledge of porphyry, skarn, and REE mineral systems
- Understanding of geochemical vectoring tools (e.g., alteration indices, element ratios)
- Supervise RC and diamond drilling, including core logging for lithology, alteration, and mineralization & familiarity with drilling logistics and database management (Geobank/Acquire)
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - MS Geology, BS Geology
- Education: MS/ BS in Geology
- Exploration experience in base metals and REE/Critical minerals
- Practical knowledge of geological mapping, Cross sections, sampling, and drill core logging
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS), Surpac (or Leapfrog) for modelling, MS Excel and data management, Handheld pXRF operation for rapid field geochemical analysis
- Strong analytical and observational skills
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 1 year
- Min 1 Yr post qual experience.
