Some Pakistan Army commissions rules could not be confirmed from an official source and are not used - see the list on this page.

The date your age is counted on

Set by each course's advertisement.

An upper limit of N years means you must not have reached your Nth birthday on the date age is counted. Turning N on that very date makes you over-age by one day.

General age relaxation

Varies by course; read the advert.

Not confirmed from an official source

We could not confirm these from an official document, so the calculator does not rely on them. Check the advertisement.

  • The official site could not be reached, so no course's age limit has been checked.

How it works

  1. Enter your date of birth and the date the advertisement counts age on - for army courses this is often not the closing date.
  2. Enter the lower and upper age limits the advertisement gives for your course and qualification.
  3. You see your exact age on that date and whether it is inside the limits.

Common mistakes

  • Counting your age on the day the advertisement was published. Age is reckoned on the closing date for applications unless the advertisement names another date.
  • Using a different date of birth from the one on your Matric certificate and CNIC. Recruiters go by your documents; if they differ, sort that out first.
  • Adding the general relaxation yourself when the advertisement says the age limit already includes it. It is then counted only once.
  • Assuming a relaxation applies without the proof. A relaxation that is not proved with the document the advertisement asks for is refused at scrutiny.

Frequently asked questions

What is the age limit for a Pak Army commission?

Each course - Long Course, graduate courses, technical and medical cadets - sets its own limits in its advertisement on joinpakarmy.gov.pk. We could not confirm them from the official site, so this page gives none: enter the limits from the advertisement you are applying to.

On which date is age counted for army courses?

On the date the course advertisement names. Use that date, not the day you apply.
