About this vacancy
Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is hiring a Control Room Operator in Nokundi, District Chagai, Balochistan. The main duty of the post is to monitor IT systems, network connectivity, servers, and communication equipment from the control room to ensure continuous operation. The post requires Diploma in IT/Networking or Retd NCO from Corps of Signals / EME with at least 6 years of experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitor IT systems, network connectivity, servers, and communication equipment from the control room to ensure continuous operation
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, IP cameras, access control systems, and security monitoring displays across the mining project site
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report IT hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues to the relevant technical team
- Monitor network devices, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and communication links between site offices and operational areas
- Maintain control room logs, incident reports, system status records, and shift handover documentation
- Respond to IT system alarms, communication failures, and technical incidents in accordance with established procedures
- Coordinate with IT technicians, security personnel, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and maintain uninterrupted monitoring services
- Ensure proper operation of control room equipment, follow site safety and security procedures, and promptly escalate critical system failures
Eligibility criteria
- Diploma in IT/Networking, in Information Technology
- Education: Diploma in IT/Networking or Retd NCO from Corps of Signals / EME
- Ability to diagnose and resolve computer, software, and peripheral equipment issues
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, IP addressing, and network connectivity
- Familiarity with IP cameras, video surveillance systems, access control, and monitoring displays
- Ability to monitor system alarms, maintain accurate logs, and prepare shift reports
- Strong coordination, troubleshooting, teamwork, and ability to work in a shift-based mining environment
Experience required
- Required experience: 6 – 8 years
- Min 6-8 Yrs post qual experience
