About this vacancy
Lead the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA)'s AI governance capability and strategy for responsible adoption of AI in public services.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop risk-based AI governance proposals, standards and assurance processes, coordinating with Legal and relevant regulators
- Define approaches to impact assessment, transparency, fairness, explainability, human oversight and monitoring
- Build and prioritize the government AI use-case portfolio, assessing public value, feasibility, data readiness, cost and risk
- Guide applied AI initiatives from pilots through deployment and monitoring
- Set evaluation requirements for AI models and suppliers including generative AI
- Advise on national AI capability, compute, model strategy, procurement and partnerships
- Build the AI team, coordinate readiness assessments and report to executives on outcomes and risks
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Technology Policy or related field; relevant Master's preferred, in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, recognised by HEC
- Senior leadership experience
- AI governance experience in consulting, government or regulated organizations desirable
- Familiarity with AI risk frameworks desirable
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 15 years
- 15 years or more of progressively responsible experience in AI, machine learning, technology strategy or technology policy including senior leadership
