About this vacancy
Provide strategic leadership for the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA)'s software architecture and engineering, covering secure, scalable and interoperable digital platforms, and translate the National Digital Masterplan into architecture standards and modernization roadmaps.
Duties and responsibilities
- Set software architecture strategy aligned with national digital priorities
- Create reference architectures, design standards and reusable patterns
- Lead legacy application modernization and migration planning
- Guide adoption of cloud-native, API and microservices approaches
- Run architecture governance and design reviews with the Architecture Review Board
- Ensure security, privacy, accessibility, resilience and maintainability
- Coordinate with DPI, data, AI, cybersecurity and delivery leaders
- Evaluate technology investments and supplier proposals
- Strengthen secure development, testing, DevSecOps and release practices
- Mentor architecture and engineering teams
- Advise senior leadership on software strategy and risks
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate degree desirable, recognised by HEC
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline meeting PDA recognition requirements; postgraduate degree desirable
- Architecture or cloud certifications desirable
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 15 years
- Minimum 15 years of experience in software development and architecture including senior leadership of large-scale platforms; government or regulated sector experience desirable
