About this vacancy
NUST invites online applications for the post of Deputy Director Procurement at University Main Office (UMO), Procurement and Local Purchase Dte. Job Reference: Job/SS-116/10/10/2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test/interview; no TA/DA admissible.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure timely receipt and correctness of procurement requirements
- Ensure timely initiation of procurement on E-PADS
- Ensure bid opening formalities and technical evaluation
- Ensure correct preparation and approval of CSTs
- Ensure correct contracts and issuance of POs
- Manage procurement of ration items (dry & fresh)
- Address vendor/bidder grievances
- Provide procurement guidance and vet RFQs/contracts of schools/institutes
- Ensure auction of condemned stores and vehicles
- Ensure stocktaking, survey and condemnation of stores
- Efficient inventory management
- Handle admin, HR and petty cash matters of Dte
- Act as OIC workshop and acting Director when required
Eligibility criteria
- Master's - MSc, MA, MS/MBA (Supply Chain Management), recognised by HEC
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- ERP/EPADS
- Desirable: PPRA rules
- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC
- No 3rd Division in academic career
- NUST employees need minimum one year service and NOC from Head of Institution
- Candidates must not be in process of pursuing the required degree
- Candidates must be medically fit
- Govt/Armed Forces employees must apply through parent department
Experience required
- Required experience: At least 12 years
- Essential: 12 years relevant experience from reputed organization; Desirable: Retired Armed Forces (Lt Col/equivalent), 2-3 years public procurement, inventory/warehouse management
- Experience accepted from: Armed Forces, Reputed Organizations

- All candidates: 30 – 59 years
