Documents go in with the application

Unlike most commissions, SPSC wants scanned copies attached to the online application. Every one of them must have been issued by its authority before the closing date. If you applied for a document in good time and the issuing office is late, attach your proof and write to SPSC's Chairperson before the closing date.

  • CNIC (and NICOP for dual nationals), and a digital photograph on a white background, under six months old.
  • Matric or O-level certificate showing your date of birth, and the Intermediate or A-level certificate.
  • Your degree, any post-graduate degree the post needs, and the year-wise marks sheets or transcripts.
  • A certificate from the Controller of Examinations giving the exact date your result was announced.
  • Registration with PMDC, PEC, the Bar Council or another body, where the post needs it.
  • Domicile, and the Permanent Residence Certificate on Form-D, both from the Deputy Commissioner.
  • NOC or departmental permission, if you are in service, and experience certificates.
  • Research publications where required, an age relaxation order if you are over age, and a disability certificate for the disability quota.

Domicile, PRC and urban or rural quota

You must be domiciled in a district of Sindh. The domicile and the PRC must both be your own - SPSC's interview letter says so - and the place of residence on the PRC must be the same as on the domicile. Your urban or rural quota follows the domicile: urban means the pre-2021 limits of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, and the Deputy Commissioner is to stamp "Urban" or "Rural" on it.

Your domicile, PRC and urban or rural choice cannot be changed after the closing date. A domicile detail entered wrongly can be corrected on request with an affidavit, only on your first application for that post and only before the closing date. A woman who changed her domicile because of marriage during the recruitment can use the new one, with valid documents. Serving employees use the domicile and PRC on their service record.

Results, equivalence and experience

SPSC does not entertain applications whose results were not officially announced by the closing date, and a result withheld by the university and still undecided then disqualifies the candidate. If you have the marks sheet but not yet the degree, attach the Controller of Examinations' certificate of the result date saying the degree is being processed.

A foreign degree needs proof of equivalence from HEC or the relevant statutory body with the application; if it is still being issued, produce it at the interview, or you cannot be interviewed. An equivalent degree counts only where the advertisement says "or equivalent".

Experience counts only if it was in a regular, full-time, paid job after your basic qualification, certified by the head of the department. SPSC excludes ad-hoc, contract and officiating service, and - except for teaching in Sindh's education posts - time on study leave for an MPhil or PhD.

At the interview

Bring all the originals and one set of photocopies attested by an officer of BPS-17 or above, with a print of your application form and the fee receipt. Staff compare the originals with the copies, and suspected forgery goes to the interview chair. SPSC's interview letter also asks for three attested photographs, character certificates from the head of your last institution and from a responsible person, and your equivalence certificate.

Only the original CNIC admits you to the written exam - a copy in any form is not accepted - and your identity may be checked biometrically at the interview.

Deficient or rejected: SPSC's two lists

SPSC separates faults you can make good from those that end the application. A deficiency must be fixed by the last interview date, or the chair rejects the candidature.

Deficient - can be made good

  • Name, father's name or date of birth not matching the Matric certificate.
  • Matric, Intermediate, marks sheets or degree missing.
  • NOC, experience certificate, service certificate or age relaxation order missing.
  • Fee screenshot, domicile or PRC not attached.

Rejected

  • Lacking the minimum qualification or experience, or outside the age limit after relaxation.
  • Doubtful proof of date of birth, or documents that look tampered with or edited.
  • Fee not paid by the closing date, or domicile not produced.
  • A paper or courier application instead of the online one.

How it works

  1. The checklist opens with SPSC already chosen. Tell it the kind of post - you can still go back and pick another body.
  2. Answer short questions about your domicile, government service, qualification, experience and any quota. Each is a tap, and nothing leaves your device.
  3. You get your own list - every document, original or copy, and how many copies this body asks for - to tick off, print or save as a PDF.
  4. Above it are the risks in your answers: red for a listed reason to reject, amber to check, green to have ready - each with what to do and the official rule.

Common mistakes

  • Uploading a domicile or certificate issued after the closing date - SPSC wants every document issued before it.
  • A PRC that names a different place from the domicile.
  • Counting contract or ad-hoc service as experience - SPSC excludes it.
  • A name or date of birth in the form that differs from the Matric certificate.
  • Coming to the interview without a set attested by a BPS-17 officer, or without a print of the application and fee receipt.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents does SPSC want with the online application?

Scanned copies of your CNIC, photograph, Matric to final degree with marks sheets, the result-date certificate, domicile and PRC (Form-D), registration where the post needs it, NOC if you are in service, experience certificates and any relaxation order - all issued before the closing date.

How many attested copies for an SPSC interview?

One set of photocopies attested by an officer of BPS-17 or above, with all the originals, a print of your application form and the fee receipt.

What is the PRC, and does SPSC need it?

The Permanent Residence Certificate on Form-D, from the Deputy Commissioner. SPSC wants it with your domicile, both your own, naming the same place.

Can I apply to SPSC if my result is awaited?

No. SPSC does not entertain an application whose result was not officially announced by the closing date.

Does contract experience count at SPSC?

No. SPSC excludes ad-hoc, contract and officiating service from experience.

Do government employees need an NOC for SPSC?

Yes. Serving government and semi-government employees apply through proper channel and attach the NOC or departmental permission, with a service certificate; a missing NOC makes the application deficient.
